The plot of this story centers on a close-knit group of friends who set out on a risky expedition to steal a whooping 20 crore worth of gold from law enforcement officials. The story conveys a moral lesson about wanting the forbidden, but what really captures readers' attention is the path of deception and how it unravels. Diganth takes on the character of Krishna, a morally reprehensible con man who is willing to go to any lengths to further his own interests and feed his insatiable hunger. Sangeetha Sringeri plays his mysterious bar dancer girlfriend beside him, while Cockroach Sudhi is his faithful sidekick in their bold plan. As they negotiate the complex web of preparation and execution in their pursuit of unjustly acquired wealth, their chemistry serves as the central theme of the story.
Diganth's interpretation of Krishna is a revelation; he skillfully conveys the complexity of a morally dubious figure while letting go of his "lover boy" reputation. Sampath Maitreya and the other members of the supporting cast give excellent performances; Maitreya's is one of the movie's highlights. Technically speaking, "Marigold" holds steady despite sporadic stumbles, thereby achieving its principal goal of offering gripping entertainment throughout its duration.
The main reason for the movie's "A" designation, which denotes its adult nature, is the unadulterated sincerity of its profanity-filled exchanges. This, however, doesn't take away much from the story's overall appeal, which enthralls viewers with its riveting premise and outstanding acting. Even though it contains cliches and industry insider knowledge, director Raghavendra Naik has succeeded in crafting a fun movie that offers a fresh take on an interesting and enjoyable story. He deserves praise for thinking outside the box and creating a film that isn't your typical, mass-produced production.
"Marigold" is essentially a monument to Raghavendra Naik's skillful direction and Diganth's flexibility as an actor, giving viewers a captivating look into the darker corners of human desire, all hidden beneath the alluring sheen of gold.
