 With the exception of the title and an unusual actor-actress combination, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is completely unrelated to the 1988 production of the same name. However, that is the least of its issues. The film directed by Ali Abbas Zafar is one of the early favorites to win "Duds of the Year." The pantomime villain, two mismatched male leads, and a plot whose synopsis speeds up brain cell death are all present in the new Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

An inventor, having had his plan to equip robots for military tasks rejected, now wants to wreak havoc on India. Priya (Sonakshi Sinha), whose brain contains the top-secret secrets for a shield that defends India from foreign attack, is abducted by the resentful Kabir (Prithviraj Sukumaran).

Kabir is facing the best fighters to have ever donned an Indian Army uniform, Rocky (Tiger Shroff) and Freddy (Akshay Kumar). Intelligence officer Nisha (Manushi Chillar) and master hacker Pammi (Alaya F) support Freddy and Rocky. The Save India expedition is scheduled to last three days, but in the world of this movie, time is slow. During a prior operation to save an ambassador and his family from militants in Afghanistan, a reasonable warning was given. Once the hostages are safe, Freddy and Rocky take their time leaving the dangerous country.

As Freddy and Rocky go to their point of departure, night gives way to day. They seem to have traveled the whole length of Afghanistan, but they are still not at their destination. A later countdown to override the shield is infected by the tardiness and threatens Armageddon at any moment for an endless number of seconds.
