Reem Kherici wrote and directed the comedy film "Cat and Dog," which starred Franck Dubosc, Philippe Lacheau, and Reem Kherici.

Reem Kherici is the only human performer that sticks out in this ensemble cast film. She is creative, upbeat, and natural in her job. Simply put, the two male leads perform their roles. But the movie also has two real stars who come to rescue the day: a computer-generated dog and a kitten who are the real stars of the show.

The script is straightforward and modest. The puppy and kitten are so endearing that it's worth putting aside the film's cinematic flaws to just enjoy the cuteness and charm of these two new friends. The visual effects aren't very amazing, though.

Storyline

Monica and Jack became aware that their cats, Chichi and Diva, were gone from the tarmac as they were getting ready to take off. Both Jack's dog and Monica's well-known influencer cat, who had ingested a stolen ruby, had mysteriously vanished. The owners now have to cooperate in order to find their cherished animals. They have no idea that Brandt, the dedicated police officer pursuing them, will do everything it takes to get the stolen gem back.

Highlights include an endearing cat played by Inès Reg, a cute puppy played by Artus, and a delightful performance by Reem Kherici, who adds human tenderness to the mix. Although the script is sadly weak, Philippe Lacheau plays his usual humorous character with skill, and Franck Dubosc is limited by a script that doesn't work for him.

The animals in "Cat and Dog" are the main characters, making for a humorous and endearing film. It's one of those movies that's enjoyable to watch. It doesn't hide its intentions—fun, lighthearted entertainment—but it leaves a nice aftertaste even if you don't remember it for very long.
