Directed by Rahul Sadasivan, "Bramayugam" is a horror thriller set in Malayalam. It is a co-production of YNOT Studios and Night Shift Studios.The film, which is in black and white and features Mammootty in the lead role with Sidharth Bharathan, Arjun Ashokan, and Amalda Liz providing supporting roles, looks to be a captivating cinematic experience. On February 15, 2024, it made its theater debut.
The first glimpse of Mammootty "Bramayugam"—a creepy monochrome image—was revealed on the actor's 72nd birthday. On January 11, 2024, the filmmakers unveiled a two-minute and eleven-second teaser for the film. Then, on February 10, 2024, the "Bramayugam" directors simultaneously revealed the black-and-white trailer at an esteemed event in Abu Dhabi that Mammootty was present at, and uploaded it online.
Before the movie's release, Mammootty's character had a new name thanks to the "Bramayugam" production crew. Instead of Kunjumon Potti, the figure will now be referred to as Kudamon Potti.This action was motivated by a legal battle initiated by the head of Punjamon Illam, a well-known Brahmin family in Kottayam. They said that the film painted a negative picture of their house and family. Additionally, they requested that the Censor Board revoke the film's certification. However, the Censor Board has confirmed that it received and approved the request to modify the name.
