Bonus Points:
Entertainer Vijay Deverakonda portrays a man from the middle class, adopting the attitudes and actions characteristic of his social class. He gives a very good portrayal in the family moments. Mrunal Thakur does a fantastic job conveying the development of the character both before and after the break. The on-screen chemistry between the principal actors makes the action more endearing. On the big screen, the songs have a strong sense of composition and aesthetic appeal. A little comedy thrown in also makes the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Negative Points:
In this genre, one would expect emotionally charged, gripping sequences. But the movie doesn't succeed in presenting these kinds of scenes. Family Star isn't really memorable, even if Dil Raju says it's a meaningful love story. Although there is room for emotional nuance, the film mostly lacks it. Several sections felt drawn out because Parasuram Petla gave the screenplay little attention.
The background score by Gopi Sundar is unimpressive, and the song placement seems out of place. A couple situations in the second half make for a less enjoyable watch than in the first. Vennela Kishore's skill is misused in the comedy, which falls short of making enough people laugh. The story is further undermined by Jagapathi Babu's little screen time and the appearance of other characters for brief periods of time. The script has a few gaps in it as well.
Technical Details:
Parasuram The storyline and directing by Petla are weak and cohesive, and they don't engage the audience. While Gopi Sundar's songwriting is good, it doesn't always elevate the right moments. The production values and cinematography are respectable, however the editing should be strengthened for a smoother storyline.
Conclusion:
The Family Star generally provides some entertainment value. Mrunal Thakur and Vijay Deverakonda give excellent performances. However, the film's weak premise, inadequate background score, slow-paced writing, and lack of emotional depth are its main flaws. It could still be worthwhile to see this weekend if you can get beyond these issues.
